"...a commanding performance that carries the show from start to finish."

Broadway World

Sam C. Jones is an actor, multi-instrumentalist, and singer-songwriter from Alexandria, Virginia. He grew up watching his mom play piano for a summer theatre program and, to no one's surprise, he wound up on that same stage when he was old enough to audition. From that day on, he knew it was where he belonged.

With a wide vocal range that can sing anything from Johnny Cash to Journey, an unshakeable comedic-charm and signature left-handed guitar playing, Sam brings joy and authenticity to any project he takes on. He's worked for renowned theatres all over the country and has been lucky enough to portray several musical pioneers, including Paul McCartney, Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash. He has also served as music director while performing in productions of Million Dollar Quartet, Pump Boys & Dinettes and Buddy: the Buddy Holly Story. Other favorite credits include Ogie in Waitress, Borachio in Much Ado About Nothing, and Casey in The Legend of Georgia McBride.

Sam holds a BA in Musical Theatre & Dance from Christopher Newport University. He is a proud member of Actor's Equity Association and currently splits his time between NYC and Washington DC.

Select Theatre Credits: When Elvis Met the Beatles (Paul McCartney; Ogunquit Playhouse - World Premiere), Buddy: the Buddy Holly Story (Buddy Holly; Theatre Zone) Million Dollar Quartet (as Carl, Johnny & Elvis; Ogunquit, Meadow Brook, Axelrod PAC, Beef & Boards, the Hippodrome & more), Waitress (Ogie; Olney Theatre Center), Pump Boys & Dinettes (Jim/Jackson; Hippodrome Theatre, Totem Pole Playhouse), Million Dollar Quartet Christmas (Bucks County Playhouse, New Stage Theatre, Totem Pole), The Legend of Georgia McBride (Casey; Phoenix Theatre), Much Ado About Nothing (Borachio; Opera House Arts), The Tempest (Ferdinand; Sacramento Theatre Company), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Lysander; Davis Shakespeare Festival).

When he is not traveling the country as an actor, Sam is bumping around the DMV with his band the Sinners, bringing his mix of Americana, rockabilly and folk to anyone who wants to hear it. With his “singing and guitar chops, dance moves and ease with which he commands a stage”, Sam’s live shows will tug at your heart strings one moment and teach you your new favorite drinking-song the next. His debut album Overdue Confession II (2022) earned critical acclaim and he continues to experiment within the genre with a steady stream of new singles and EPs. For fans of Johnny Cash, The Black Keys and Tom Petty, Sam is the latest DMV artist you don't want to miss.

"...reminiscent of Brandi Carlile, melodic with a bit of twangy guitar and groovy piano [that provide] a great background for his 60s-sounding vocals."
